For optimal safety and efficiency, Dr. Greenfield partners with an anesthesiologist to provide IV sedation in our on-site surgical suite. IV, or intravenous, sedation involves administering anesthesia into the bloodstream through an IV. Typically, we recommend this procedure for the highly anxious or fearful patient, those who do not respond well to traditional anesthesia, or patients who require many dental procedures in as little time as possible. Those with physical or mental disabilities may also respond well to IV sedation.

Administration

During IV sedation, our anesthesiologist will monitor your comfort, providing as much medication as necessary to keep you totally relaxed. Few people remember the sights, sounds, or procedure following IV sedation. We will also use contemporary tools to monitor your vital signs so that you can enjoy peace of mind before your procedure, knowing that you’re in good hands.
