In the past, a crown required two visits to the dentist. Because we practice state-of-the-art dental care, we can produce a custom-milled, ceramic (tooth-colored) restoration in one appointment. Dr. Greenfield may recommend a one-visit CEREC restoration for a tooth damaged by extensive decay or fracture.

What’s CEREC?

A revolutionary in-office milling system, CEREC fabricates ceramic restorations based on digital imaging. After preparing your tooth, Dr. Greenfield will take digital images and use special software to design a custom ceramic restoration to precisely fit your bite. The data is entered into the CAD/CAM milling unit, and in about one hour, the restoration is ready. So, with CEREC, Dr. Greenfield can mill and secure a ceramic restoration in the same visit.

Because CEREC crowns are milled and placed in a single office visit, you won’t have to wear a temporary crown. Temporaries are notorious for falling out or breaking, but they’re necessary while waiting for a lab-made restoration. With a crown milled in our office, you won’t have to wait on a lab-made restoration. Another benefit, CEREC restorations are made from durable, shade-matched ceramic blocks. Your final restoration will match surrounding teeth and look completely natural.
